MUSC – AUDIOLOGY

The Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Otolaryngology invites applications for an audiologist with interest in developing a career with expertise in vestibular clinical evaluation.

  • Requirements: candidates must possess a doctoral degree (AuD, PhD) and have/obtain a South Carolina audiology license.

  • This 1-2 year position is specifically designed to gain experience in vestibular diagnostic evaluation and interpretation as a member of multi-disciplinary vestibular team including audiologists, physical therapists, nutritionist, neurotologists with a focus to develop a portfolio of vestibular related translational research.

  • The Department of Otolaryngology includes a large physician faculty and professional practice of multiple disciplines including the Otology Division of five neurotologists/otologists as well as a growing Division of Audiology with 20 audiologists with five primarily involved with the vestibular program. Vestibular evaluations are provided primarily at the main campus of MUSC in downtown Charleston.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret vestibular evaluations for all ages and may include vHIT, c and oVEMP tests, VNG, rotary chair tests, eCoG, CDP, audiometry, impedance testing.

  • Provide documentation/reports as well as appropriate billing for evaluations.

  • Maintain diagnostic equipment, follow proper infection control policies and maintain disposable supplies for the vestibular lab.

  • Participate in monthly Vestibular Team meetings and Department courses which may include presentation.

  • Work with mentor to develop professional development goals with protected time to develop a research portfolio.

  • Salary is commensurate the NRSA post-doctoral scale.

Mayo Clinic Florida: Crawford Endowed Post-doctoral Fellowship in Otolaryngology and Audiology, Focus: The Patient Experience in Audiology and Otolaryngology Clinics

  • The Department of Otolaryngology and Audiology at the Mayo Clinic in Florida is offering a 1-2 year post-Doctoral fellowship experience for recent Ph.D., Au.D. , or M.D. graduates who have an interest in developing a publication portfolio in applied clinical research.  We are developing evidence based processes that emphasize efficient, patient centered assessment and ultimately improve the overall patient experience for those receiving hearing and balance services.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has a solid understanding of clinical hearing and balance assessment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and is strongly motivated to improve the science of hearing and balance healthcare delivery.  Opportunities to participate in NIH funded research and grant writing training are available.  The post-doctoral fellow will not provide direct patient care. Rather, the successful applicant will collaborate with the clinical and research staff within the department and across the Mayo Clinic.

MAYO CLINIC FLORIDA

The department of Otolaryngology at Mayo Clinic, Florida is seeking an Audiologist to join our division of Audiology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct patient care (50%) and conduct clinical / translational research (50%)

  • Oversee the delivery of patient care and partner with a team of clinical audiologists, audiology externs, and audiology assistants

  • Develop clinical protocols and guide the team on audiology standards and procedures

  • Offer clinical lectures for the continuing education of audiologists, audiology externs, ENT residents, and fellows

  • Provide audiology expertise and guidance on intricate clinical cases during multidisciplinary clinics within the otolaryngology department and across the diverse Mayo Clinic departments

  • Initiate and oversee a translational research program that focuses on clinical applications in audiology, particularly in the areas of vestibular sciences, cochlear implants, and/or diagnostic audiology

  • Collaborate with research faculty and the audiology team to secure extramural funding by developing grant applications

Qualifications​

  • PhD in audiology or hearing sciences from an accredited institution

  • Licensed or ability to obtain license to practice audiology in the state of Florida.
